BFPO Service Delays – Brize Norton

The non-delivery of 350 mailbags destined for Cyprus, Op TORAL, Op TOSCA, Op SHADER, Op KIPION and HMS DUNCAN. The delay has been caused by the closure of a hangar at RAF Brize Norton in which the mail was stored.
Despatches Affected:
OP KIPION (BFPOs 639, 779 & 767)
OP TORAL (BFPO 798,711,757,759,762 & 764)
CYPRUS (BFPOs 53, 57, 58 & 59)
OP TOSCA (BFPO 567)
OP SHADER (BFPO 550, 625, 627, 649, 660 & 684)
Ships (HMS DUNCAN)
•             BFPO is disappointed that it has not yet been possible to deliver a number of mail despatches, destined for customers in Cyprus, Op TORAL, Op TOSCA, Op SHADER, Op KIPION and HMS Duncan earlier this month.
•             The delay has been caused by the closure of a hangar at RAF Brize Norton; this was due to unforeseen circumstances and Business Continuity Plans are now in place.  It is estimated that this issue affected items received at BFPO between 27 March 2019 and 5 April 2019.
•             Until the outcome of this issue is known, BFPO is unable to accept any compensation claims for loss or damage to items at this time.
•             Should these items be damaged or destroyed, customers will be able to submit claims and BFPO will issue further advice when an outcome is known.
•             Customers affected are advised to retain proof of purchase/invoices and posting to support any claim, should this be required.
•             BFPO, and the MOD, takes the welfare of our Armed Forces extremely seriously. We remain committed to ensuring that those deployed on operations can keep in touch with their families and friends.

New initiatives to support modern Service life

New initiatives introduced to support modern Service life

A series of new initiatives, aimed at modernising the living and working arrangements for armed forces personnel will be launched today, announced Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson.

These new measures, including new flexible working arrangements, expanded accommodation options and new co-habitation rules are designed to modernise the Armed Forces and ensure the military remains a competitive employer that meets the changing needs and expectations of service personnel and their families.

The Warrior Programme

The dates and location for the Tri-Service serving personnel and families Warrior Programme have now been released. The course will run from 17 - 19 September, 22 - 24 October and 26 - 28 Nov and will be held at the Tri-Service, Service Cotswold Centre, Wiltshire. It is a fully funded residential training course, the participants will need to make their own way there, food, accommodation and training are funded, we are also running a non-residential course in Catterick garrison in June plus a residential course in August at Nuneaton.

The Warrior Programme is a personal development training programme that is made up of an intensive three day course followed by 12 months of structured support. It is available to all members of the serving community and their families. (18 years of age and above). The course is fully funded with all training, food and accommodation costs covered, the individuals just need to get to the training centre.

The Warrior Programme is suitable for anyone who is looking to understand more about themselves, let go of limiting beliefs and negative emotions, learn how to recognise their values and set goals as well as improving their communication. This means that anyone who wants to engage in the process is suitable for the programme. It is not suitable for individuals who are in the middle of a crisis, although it can be a great preventative tool or as part of someone’s recovery.
