Joint Service Housing Advice Office

JSHAO Housing Briefs

The MoD provides civilian housing information to members of the Armed Forces via the Joint Service Housing Advice Office (JSHAO). JSHAO is the MOD’s tri-service focal point providing Service personnel and their family members with pertinent information for those considering civilian accommodation at any time in their career, and for those during resettlement to assist with the transition to civilian life. The bulk of this information is via a 2-2½ hr presentation with 1-1 consults available.

An Independent Financial Mortgage Adviser who is a member of SIIAP (Services Insurance and Investment Advisory Panel) which is recognised by the MOD as supporting the Armed Forces (refer 2013DIN01-218), accompanies JSHAO at the briefings.

Each JSHAO briefing is notified on all HIVE blogs regardless of location to ensure maximum coverage to the Service community.

The Army Parents' Network

The Army Parents’ Network

The Army Parents' Network was launched on 28 Sep as part of national inclusion week. The aim of the Network is to support Serving Army Parents and the Chain of Command by providing access to information, advice and peer support. The page will promote information on relevant topics (including policy updates and useful articles) and will also act as a forum for individuals to ask questions for other members to provide advice – all questions asked can be posted anonymously. This Facebook group is a closed group with access limited to Serving Army personnel only. If you would like to join please answer the two questions when you apply and your application will be authorised. https://m.facebook.com/groups/1199748646820329

Carillion-Amey - Guide to SFA

Click here to view SFA GUIDE

Introducing the updated SFA Guide to our customers and our stakeholders

CarillionAmey have made some necessary changes to their Guide to Living in Service Family Accommodation and the updated guide can now be found on their website. The SFA Guide needed a fresh look and some of the information was out of date. They also wanted to introduce the details of their new digital communication channels into the guide as well to ensure that everyone moving in knew that they could talk to CarillionAmey in a variety of ways, at their own convenience.

Customers have started to move towards digital in a major way. In order to keep up with the movement, Accommodation Officers will now be directing customers, who have recently moved in to Service Family Accommodation, to the CarillionAmey website to read through the SFA Guide rather than have a printed copy in their Move-In pack.

There are plenty of benefits that come with this change, including easy and quick to access information. The guide also has a whole new ‘contact us’ page with hyperlinks, directing customers straight to the page they need. It will also be easier to update when CarillionAmey need to make any changes, customers will always be seeing the most up to date version, rather than having to update and then reprint, we can simply update and then upload on to the website.
